Aim
The aim of the Association is to provide male and female players of all ages and skill levels with a relaxed environment in which to play hockey. To support this aim the Association has adopted a Player Code of Conduct which must be accepted by every player as part of the registration process.
Fees
The fee structure for 2008 is $150 for the entire season with a discount of $20 if paid in full on or before the 4th general fixture. Alternatively, players may prefer to play on a casual basis and pay per game played. In this case a fee of $30 for Registration and Insurance is payable immediately, in addition to $10 for each game played ie $40 is payable before taking the field for the first game and $10 for each game thereafter. Associate membership is also available for $10 which entitles the member to full use of the bar facilities and discounted entry to some functions.
Teams
Teams in the competition are ungraded and the relative skill level of any team is dependent only on the recruiting ability of its organiser. In 2008, there are 10 teams competing for a place in the Finals in September which necessitates a bye for one team each week.
Season
The 2008 season runs from Saturday 12 April to Grand Final Day on 20 September, with 3 general byes during the season. That is 18 playing rounds plus two finals rounds, and a Challenge Cup game between the two leading teams after Round 9 and a Paper Plate game played between the two lowest ranked teams.
Umpires
Umpires are usually drawn from the pool of current players but non-playing umpires are also welcome. Contact the Umpires Convenor for more details.
